EN English Documentation

A high-performance, cross-platform GPU encoding client and headless worker CLI for the Omega Downloader Bot and Omega Loader Bot.

The Omega GPU Worker acts as a background processing agent that connects to your VPS backend, fetches pending video and media conversion jobs, transccodes them locally utilizing your hardware-accelerated graphics processing unit (GPU), and securely uploads the processed media back to the bot.

🌟 Core Features

1. Dual Mode Operation

  • Desktop App: Premium user interface built with Tauri 2 and HTML/CSS/JS, featuring a native system tray, real-time status cards, manual hardware encoder selection, and live terminal logs.
  • Headless CLI: A minimalist, low-footprint Rust daemon (omega-worker-cli) tailored for background servers, headless environments, or headless system startup.

2. Auto-Detecting Hardware Acceleration

Optimized for ultra-fast transcode speeds with modern video codecs:

  • NVIDIA: h264_nvenc (NVENC)
  • AMD: h264_amf (AMF)
  • Apple Silicon: h264_videotoolbox
  • CPU Fallback: libx264 (standard software encoding)

3. Smart Stream Processing & Fragmented Uploads

  • Real-time Streaming: Directly streams, downsamples, and encodes media on-the-fly, returning progress metrics to the VPS.
  • Multipart Chunked Uploads: Automatically handles chunked file uploads directly to the VPS backend with dynamic manifest generation for extreme network stability.

🔒 Source-Only Trust Model (Security)

Since the worker receives and processes highly sensitive session cookies for protected media sites (like YouTube, Instagram, and X/Twitter) in real time:

  1. Absolute Transparency: No pre-compiled binaries are provided for third-party operators. Every GPU host is explicitly encouraged to review the code and compile it locally.
  2. RAM-Only Cookie Life: Received cookie payloads are held strictly in transient process memory (RAM). They are temporarily written to a highly restricted, protected file only during a yt-dlp execution and are permanently shredded immediately after the job completes.
  3. Log Sanitization: The log engine automatically filters and redacts all auth headers, session cookies, and credentials from any debug log output.
  4. Tailscale Encryption: All network traffic between the local GPU Worker and the VPS is securely routed over a private Tailscale network (Tailnet) using end-to-end encryption.

  • Frontend: Vanilla HTML, CSS, JavaScript (lightweight, zero-bloat).
  • Backend: Tauri 2, Rust (native OS bindings, system tray, daemon core).
  • Processing Engines: yt-dlp (stream capturing), FFmpeg (hardware-accelerated transcoding).

🚀 Installation & Development

Prerequisites

  • Node.js (v20 or higher)
  • Rust & Cargo compilation environment

1. Build the Desktop App (Tauri)

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Run in development mode
npm run tauri dev

# Compile production package (EXE / MSI)
npm run tauri build

2. Build the Headless CLI

cd src-tauri

# Compile the standalone daemon
cargo build --bin omega-worker-cli --release

The compiled binary will be located at src-tauri/target/release/omega-worker-cli.

⚙️ Configuration

Desktop App (Pairing)

  1. Launch the Desktop App.
  2. Navigate to the "GPU Worker" tab in your Bot's Admin Web Interface.
  3. Click "Pair New Worker" and copy the VPS URL and the generated Pairing Token into the app.
  4. Once paired, the app securely persists the authorization token locally and reconnects automatically.

Headless CLI (Environment Variables)

The CLI daemon is controlled exclusively through environment variables:

  • OMEGA_WORKER_TOKEN (Required): Your permanent worker authentication token.
  • OMEGA_VPS_URL (Optional): The base URL of your VPS (Default: http://localhost:5000).
  • OMEGA_POLL_INTERVAL (Optional): Job polling interval in seconds (Default: 10).

Example startup:

OMEGA_WORKER_TOKEN="your_secure_auth_token" OMEGA_VPS_URL="https://vps.yourserver.com" ./omega-worker-cli

🌟 Hauptfunktionen

1. Zwei Betriebsmodi

2. Hardware-Beschleunigung mit Auto-Detection

Maximale Transcodierungs-Geschwindigkeiten durch direkte Ansteuerung deiner Grafikkarte:

  • NVIDIA: h264_nvenc (NVENC)
  • AMD: h264_amf (AMF)
  • Apple Silicon: h264_videotoolbox
  • CPU Fallback: libx264 (Standard Software-Encoding)

3. Intelligentes Streaming & Multipart-Uploads

  • Echtzeit-Streaming: Direktes Herunterladen, Skalieren und Encodieren im Stream mit Live-Fortschrittsmeldung an das Backend.
  • Multipart-Uploads: Zuverlässige Uploads großer Mediendateien in Fragmenten direkt an das VPS-Backend mit automatischer Manifest-Generierung.

🔒 Source-Only Vertrauensmodell (Sicherheit)
