Modular distortion and sound design effect by Neuroklast, for heavy guitars, aggressive drums, industrial textures and animated bass. Combine nonlinear stages, filters, dynamics, modulation and parallel routing in Circuit or edit the same chain in Terminal. Six macros provide performance control.
Factory presets include mixing utilities alongside creative effects. NEUROKORE is not advertised as a replacement for a dedicated mastering suite; its level compensation is RMS-based, not LUFS normalization.
English UI. Formats: Standalone, VST3, and on Mac an Audio Unit. Version 0.7.1-beta.
Operator guide: docs/manual/NEUROKORE.md. In-plugin Help is that guide minus Install.
Windows
- Run
NEUROKORE-0.7.1-beta-Setup.exeas administrator. Pick VST3 and/or Standalone (English or German). - If Microsoft Edge WebView2 is missing, the setup installs it. Setup reads the runtime version; an empty leftover registry key is not enough. Without that runtime the window shows how to install it.
- Rescan plug-ins. The VST3 is always
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\NEUROKORE.vst3. - Standalone is in the Start menu under Neuroklast. Uninstall keeps your presets and license.
Mac — copy the VST3 to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ and the Audio Unit to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/, then rescan.
The first unlicensed launch starts a 14-day demo. Settings → License shows the end date. After that, Mix stays dry until you install a .lic.
- Click the preset name. Double-click a factory row.
- Play audio. Raise Mix.
- Turn knobs a–f.
- Circuit is the board (IN out / sc on the right; OUT gain under Details). Terminal is the same sound as text.
LIVE keeps delay low. STUDIO is linear-phase (more delay, mix-ready). CPU in the status bar is 0–100. LAT is the delay your DAW should compensate.
Proprietary. Copyright (c) 2024–2026 NEUROKLAST. Testers receive a signed .lic. See LICENSE. JUCE and the VST3 SDK stay under their own licenses.
Needs JUCE 8.0.6+ (JUCE_DIR or CMake fetches it) and a VST3 SDK.
./scripts/build_local.sh
cmake --build build --target NeuroKoreTests --config ReleaseLinux first needs ./scripts/install_linux_deps.sh. Windows release is build_release.bat. macOS/Linux use scripts/build_local.sh. Both entry points sync the operator manual into plugin Help, then reconfigure before building so changes to CMake, resources and versions cannot be hidden by a stale cache. Mac also builds the AU. Artefacts: build/NeuroKore_artefacts/Release/ (NEUROKORE-0.7.1-beta.exe / .vst3 / .component).
build_release.bat then runs scripts/package_windows.ps1. That needs Inno Setup 6. It writes a clean NEUROKORE.vst3 bundle, downloads the WebView2 bootstrapper, compiles build/package/NEUROKORE-0.7.1-beta-Setup.exe, and writes the win64 zip plus a SHA-256. The version strings come from NEUROKORE_VERSION_LABEL in CMake. If NEUROKORE_SIGN_PFX (or NEUROKORE_SIGN_THUMBPRINT) is set, the VST3, Standalone, and Setup.exe are Authenticode-signed. A portable NEUROKORE-0.7.1-beta/ folder is a local extract and is not part of the git tree.
