Canada preset update

Implements Liam Cottle's September 9 update across the English and French site.

  • Name the app preset Canada, replacing the former USA/Canada (Recommended) primary instruction.
  • Retain 910.525 MHz / SF7 / BW 62.5 kHz / CR5, with 3-byte paths. The separate USA preset uses the same radio values but leaves the path-hash setting unchanged.
  • Replace the homepage's “planned” announcement with the completed change and its source.
  • Update setup, flashing, observer, FAQ, community-directory, and shared observer configuration references together.
  • Keep an explicit fallback for apps or flashers that still show the older label, plus the firmware 1.14 forwarding compatibility note.

Safe configuration behavior

No radio values, BC Mesh overrides, flood limits, advert intervals, or saved-device settings are changed. The configurator's radio profile and advert-ID controls remain independent and default to Keep current settings. A new bilingual hint explains the difference from the app preset. 3-byte paths still map to CLI mode 2, not mode 3.

Validation

  • Structured-data/content checks, radio-profile tests, and the new preset contract tests pass.
  • Strict bilingual build and 13,326 local references checked across 129 pages.
  • All 12 targeted preset browser journeys pass across six desktop/mobile configurations.
  • English desktop and French mobile layouts inspected; current settings remain selected and no page errors were reported.
  • Full CI passed: validation, browser/accessibility, and Lighthouse. The exact commit is deployed to the Canadaverse preview, with all 12 targeted browser journeys passing again on the public site. Full deployment and test evidence. Production meshcore.ca still awaits review and merge; no devices or brokers were changed.

The Canada preset update is available for testing in English and French:

The wording follows the upstream announcement: Canada uses the existing radio values and selects 3-byte paths. USA uses the same radio values but leaves the path-hash setting unchanged. The configurator still asks separately for radio and advert-ID changes; neither is applied by default.

Validation for commit 7344fcbfb7dbc1ed758b72e336a7f1a627870c82:

  • 176 Node content/editor tests and 16 Python content tests passed locally.
  • Strict bilingual builds passed: 129 pages, 13,326 production references and 13,324 preview references checked.
  • All 12 targeted browser journeys passed locally and again on the public preview, across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, dark mode, Android, and iPhone configurations. These use simulated browsers; no physical phones or radios were changed.
  • All 30 changed public pages/assets match the built files byte-for-byte. The preview manifest matches the commit and all 129 preview pages remain noindex.
  • English desktop and French mobile layouts checked; no JavaScript page errors were observed.
  • CI validation and Lighthouse passed. The full browser/accessibility suite finished with 620 passed, 34 skipped in this workflow.

Only the Canadaverse preview was switched, with the previous release retained for rollback. No server restart was required. Production meshcore.ca is unchanged and awaits review and merge.
