LucaGerlich/README.md

👋 Hi there, I'm Luca

IT Project Manager · Product-minded Developer · Builder

I work at the intersection of technology, product and project management.

My day-to-day work is about turning ideas and business requirements into digital products that actually get used. That can mean defining a product, coordinating stakeholders and developers, designing workflows and architecture — or opening the IDE and building the thing myself.

I especially enjoy projects where product thinking, UX and technology come together.

What I do

  • Lead and coordinate IT and digital product projects
  • Turn business problems into technical concepts and products
  • Build web applications, internal tools and mobile apps
  • Prototype ideas quickly and turn them into production-ready solutions
  • Connect stakeholders, users and developers
  • Improve existing processes through automation and better software
  • Think about UX, architecture and implementation — not just requirements

I like being close enough to both the business and the code to understand the trade-offs on each side.

🛠️ Tech I work with

Frontend & Web

TypeScript · React · Next.js · Tailwind CSS · Angular

Apps

Flutter · Kotlin · Jetpack Compose

Backend & Data

Node.js · Python · PostgreSQL · REST APIs · Prisma

Infrastructure & Tools

Docker · Azure · Hetzner · Vercel · GitHub · n8n

Product & Analytics

Product Development · Project Management · UX/UI · Process Automation · Data Analytics

How I like to work

I usually start with the problem rather than the technology.

What does the user actually need? Which part of the process creates friction? What is the smallest useful version we can build? And how can we design it so that it still works when the project grows?

I enjoy taking projects from a rough idea through:

Problem → Concept → Prototype → Product → Iteration

Sometimes my role is coordinating the people involved.

Sometimes I'm designing the solution.

Sometimes I'm writing the code.

Usually it's a combination of all three.

What you'll find here

Most of my professional work lives in private repositories, but GitHub is where I build, experiment and keep my technical skills hands-on.

You'll mainly find projects around:

  • Web applications
  • Mobile apps
  • Product prototypes
  • Internal tools
  • APIs and integrations
  • Automation
  • Data-driven applications
  • Experiments with new technologies

I'm particularly interested in building software that solves real operational problems rather than technology for technology's sake.

Beyond work

When I'm not working on a product or starting another side project, you'll probably find me:

  • Road cycling
  • Taking photos
  • Travelling
  • Making coffee
  • Exploring new products, technologies and business ideas

📫 Let's connect

I'm always interested in meeting developers, product people, founders and other builders.

I'm also open to selected freelance projects, collaborations and interesting opportunities.
