Assume zero-based image grids like en face slab viewing, so the mask extent is used directly and the offset-extent tests are gone. Share the labelmap appearance mapping with the segmentation slice representation, compare DICOM geometry with vtk areEquals, name the saved and stored segment field segmentId, and rebuild the thin-region plane only when the threshold crosses a count boundary. Move the thickness test helpers next to the other en face helpers and reuse them across specs.

Highlight columns whose selected segment occupies less than a chosen depth within the En face slab. The calculation counts occupied voxels along the projection axis, excluding gaps and columns without the segment, and uses the image's existing world geometry with VolView's millimeter convention. Thresholds are displayed in micrometers.
The overlay follows the selected segment's color and appearance. Measurement requires complete input, matching mask geometry, usable voxel spacing, and a supported grid. See the measurement implementation.
Depends on En face slab viewing.
