Summary

0.16.5 ships the changes merged since v0.16.4. The headline is bug Continuation diagnosis at the merge base (#1399): when the Issue branch has commits beyond the Base branch, the Session reproduces at that commit, then confirms or finishes the fix on the Issue branch.

• Bug Continuations whose Issue branch has commits beyond the Base branch get the merge-base commit in the Session prompt, reproduce there, and confirm or finish the fix on the Issue branch. The Factory skill owns the diagnosis outcomes. Fresh Ticket runs and Continuations with no additional commits keep their existing diagnosis flow (Diagnose bug Continuations at their merge base #1399).
• Session replies keep a completion-bearing reply when a later background-task notification produces a reply without a completion line. Claude and Grok share this selection, so every existing completion-line reader receives the preserved reply. Later completion lines still win (Preserve Session completion replies after background notifications #1416).
• Inbox rows in Needs you and Ready for review dismiss inline: the row Dismiss control, or d on the selected row, posts /dismiss and selects the next row, then Dismissed <subject> · Undo posts /dismiss/undo and the row returns. This uses the existing CSRF, pending, error, and live-refresh flow. Dismiss and Undo remain in Command details, full row forms work without JavaScript, and the row button stays reachable on a phone (Dismiss Inbox rows inline with d and Undo #1418).
• Command details opens with the same subject and full issue title as its Inbox row, above Stop and Dismiss. The subject links to the issue, and long titles wrap. Shared Inbox rules cover missing titles and Commands without an issue (Show the issue and title first in Command details #1419).
• Waterfall choices and the selected Runs line show the retained issue title (acme/widgets#7 · Widgets · merged). Long titles use an ellipsis, with the full title on hover; records without titles keep their labels (Show issue titles in Waterfall run choices #1421).
• Console asset development: a debug build with THIRDSHIFT_CONSOLE_ASSETS=<dir> serves /assets/* from confined disk reads (a missing file is 404), and the existing observer swaps CSS and reloads scripts through /events. Release builds, and debug builds without the variable, serve embedded assets. Custom Theme assets keep their existing handling, and CSP is unchanged (Add Console asset development mode #1415).

Also: unit-test Git fixtures isolate direct Git commands and fixture shell scripts from host configuration, with local identities and commit/tag signing disabled; runtime Git honours user configuration (#1410).
