Use one ID for the initial token and URL.
When the URL lacks user_id, Home generates one UUID, but UserProvider obtains a separate ID from getUserId() and navigates to it. The first chat client and channel query therefore use a different identity from the URL that the client establishes. Pass the server-selected ID to UserProvider, and persist and publish that same ID instead of selecting another one.

Do not sign an arbitrary URL-supplied user ID.
If a visitor sets user_id to another userβs ID, generateUserToken signs that ID with STREAM_API_SECRET. The visitor can then connect as that user and access channels available to that identity. Derive the token subject from an authenticated server-side identity. Do not treat the URL parameter as authorization.

Apply URL channel changes when another channel is active.
If a user opens a conversation and then uses Back, initialChannelId changes while channel remains set. This guard skips the requested conversation, so the URL and displayed chat disagree. Handle route changes as channel selections, while keeping channel-to-URL updates from creating a navigation loop.

Keep the loading screen until the chat client is ready.
If useCreateChatClient has not produced chatClient after 1,150 ms, this timer still removes LoadingScreen. The page then shows an empty chat area while connection is pending. Start the fade only when chatClient is ready; provide an error state if initialization fails.

When /start-ai-agent returns an HTTP error, fetch still resolves. MessageInputBar then sends the message as though the agent started, so the user can receive no AI reply. Defer draft creation while a linked conversation loads.
On a visit with conversation_id, the active channel starts empty, so this effect installs a draft while getChannel loads the requested conversation. The channel-to-URL effect can then push the draft ID before the requested channel resolves. Wait for the initial channel load to finish before creating a draft; create one only when no channel was requested or the load fails.

Use the same theme for server rendering and initial hydration.
If the browser has a saved dark theme or a dark system preference, its first render differs from the serverβs light-theme render. Theme-dependent labels and icons can cause a hydration mismatch. Initialize both renders with the same theme, then read browser preferences after hydration.

β¦ion styling Only json fences that hold a Chart.js config take the chart path; other JSON stays highlighted code instead of flashing 'Loading chart...' and loading the chart chunk. Split ::selection from ::-moz-selection so Chromium/WebKit keep the rule. README: alt text on the logo link, point to the v14.13.0 tag.
getChannel() and Channel.sendMessageWithLocalUpdate() are gone: load channels with client.channelManager.ensure() + ensureWatched(), and submit through messageComposer.send() after creating the conversation and starting the agent, so a setup failure no longer clears the draft.
Runs next build (type-check + bundle) against the freshly built dist in the Build & Validate job, so SDK or stream-chat API changes that break the example fail the PR instead of surfacing later.
Replaces the ai-chatbot-only step: vite, tutorial and ai-chatbot are now type-checked and bundled against the freshly built dist on every PR.

examples/ai-chatbot/src/app/page.tsx passes apiKey to AIChatApp, so the API key reaches the client. The server keeps STREAM_API_SECRET private. Update this security claim to name the secret, not all credentials.

Update the Security claim in the documentation to state that STREAM_API_SECRET
remains server-only; do not claim that all Stream API credentials are hidden
from the client, since AIChatApp receives apiKey.

Fix the selector so the dark-theme rate-limit style applies.
The rule targets .rate-limit-message. The base rule at Line 11 targets .ai-demo-rate-limit-message. The element has the ai-demo- class, so the dark-theme override never matches. The dark theme then shows the lighter 0.1 alpha background.

Fix the mobile selectors so the overrides apply.
The selectors .ai-message-composer and .ai-message-composer__form do not match the real BEM class names. The component uses .str-chat__ai-message-composer__form. The mobile border-radius and padding overrides never apply.

β¦ea charts render react-chartjs-2 registers only each chart type's controller; radar and polarArea default to the radialLinear scale, which was never registered, so those configs passed the schema and then fell back to raw code. A registry test now checks every advertised chart type's controller and default scales.
### π― Goal Fix three `stream-chat-react/ai-components` bugs that shipped in 14.13.0 (#3314). They are inherited from `@stream-io/chat-react-ai` and were found by CodeRabbit on the v15 port (#3315). This PR is the v14 port of the same fixes. ### π Implementation details - **Plain ```` ```json ```` blocks render as code** (`AIMarkdown`). - Before: every `json` fence went to the chart renderer, so ordinary JSON in a model reply (an API response, a config) showed "Loading chart..." and loaded the chart.js chunk. - Now a `json` fence takes the chart path only when it holds a Chart.js config. The check is a cheap structural one (`chartTypes.ts`), with no zod or chart.js in the eager graph, and the full schema validation still runs in the lazy chunk. - `chartjs` fences are unchanged. - The chart type list is shared between the check and the zod schema. - **The syntax selection colour now applies in Chromium and WebKit.** `::selection` shared a selector list with `::-moz-selection`, so browsers that don't know the `-moz-` variant dropped the whole rule. Current Firefox supports `::selection`. - **Radar and polarArea charts render.** `react-chartjs-2` registers only each chart type's controller, and those two default to the `radialLinear` scale, which was never registered. They passed the schema, then fell back to the raw code. `RadialLinearScale` is now registered. - **README:** `alt` text on the logo link. **Tests** - `AIMarkdown.test.tsx`: a plain `json` fence renders highlighted code with no "Loading chart..."; a `json` fence holding a Chart.js config still takes the chart path. - `chartRegistration.test.ts`: for every chart type the schema accepts, its controller and default scales are registered once the chart module loads. On v15, polarArea and radar failed this test before the fix. It checks the registry because jsdom has no canvas, so Chart.js returns before building scales and a render test can't see the bug. **Verification** - AI-component tests pass: 14 files, 71 tests. - ESLint, Prettier, `yarn types`, `yarn build`, `validate-cjs`, `validate-esm`, `validate-entry-isolation` and `validate-translations` all pass. - Release: three `fix` commits plus one `docs` commit, so this is a patch (**14.13.2**). ### π¨ UI Changes - JSON code blocks in AI replies no longer flash "Loading chart...". - Radar and polarArea charts render instead of their raw JSON. - Code-selection colour now applies in Chrome and Safari.
## [14.13.2](v14.13.1...v14.13.2) (2026-10-13) ### Bug Fixes * **ai-components:** chart and markdown fixes ([#3320](#3320)) ([8c1b9bf](8c1b9bf)), closes [#3314](#3314) [#3315](#3315) * **VirtualizedMessageList:** keep the last message fully visible in short lists ([#3317](#3317)) ([1a6021e](1a6021e))
Important
Merge this PR with "Create a merge commit". Do not squash. Like #3314 on v14, it brings in the git history of
GetStream/ai-components-js(packages/react-sdkandexamples/react-chatbot), and squashing would flatten it. This is a one-off exception to the squash-merge rule inAGENTS.md/developers/BRANCHES.md.The feature already releases through the
feat(ai-components)commit, so give the merge commit a non-releasing title, e.g.chore(ai-components): port the ai-components entry point (#3314) to v15. Otherwise it appears twice in the release notes, as it did in 14.13.0.π― Goal
Port
stream-chat-react/ai-components(#3314, released in 14.13.0) to v15 (master), so the AI components don't disappear in the next major. The port is based on #3314's merged head,f6380e501.π Implementation details
History. This branch merges the same filtered upstream history as v14 (identical SHAs,
