Describe the improvement

UniGetUI is installed machine-wide through Microsoft Intune / Company Portal. Although a newer stable version is available, winget upgrade --source winget does not list it.

WinGet diagnostic logs show that the installed application matches both:

  • Devolutions.UniGetUI
  • MartiCliment.UniGetUI.Pre-Release

WinGet cannot determine the appropriate package and omits UniGetUI from upgrade enumeration. This also prevents Winget-AutoUpdate (WAU) from discovering and updating it automatically.

Environment

  • Windows: 10.0.26300.9711, x64
  • WinGet: 1.29.380
  • Desktop App Installer: 1.29.380.0
  • Installed UniGetUI: 2026.1.10
  • Available stable version: 2026.3.3
  • Installation scope: Machine
  • Installation directory: C:\Program Files\UniGetUI
  • Deployment: Microsoft Intune / Company Portal
  • WAU: 2.12.0.2118

Describe how this improvement could help users

Actual behavior

An explicit package-ID query recognizes the installation and available update, but general upgrade enumeration omits it because of ambiguous stable/pre-release matching.

Expected behavior

WinGet should associate the installed stable UniGetUI application with Devolutions.UniGetUI and include the available stable update in general upgrade enumeration.

Maybe it's a bug, but the template didn't really fit, so I switched it to the improvement template.
