DVB Live-Linear Test Streams

Live-simulated DASH test streams, a DVB-I service list, and source test assets, hosted at live-linear.dvb.org. Maintained by Sofia Digital and Motionspell. Work is commissioned by the DVB Project.

Overview

VOD-to-live simulated DASH streams generated from the Blender Caminandes E1 open movie, intended for testing DVB-DASH playback in DVB-I clients and other players. Content includes multiple audio codecs, multi-language audio and subtitles, and a DVB-I service list referencing the test services.

Delivery

Streams are served through two VOD-to-live simulators:

• LIVESIM2 (DASH-IF)
• JITSU (gpac) — single-period and multi-period variants

DVB-I Service List

• tagdvborg2025dvblivelinear.xml — service list XML covering all test services.

Source Assets

Video (H.264, 1080p):

• Caminandes_E1-1080p.mp4 — 25 fps
• Caminandes_E1-1080p_50fps.mp4 — 50 fps

Audio (per language: eng, deu, fin, swe, spa; non-eng tracks carry a language-name overlay):

• HE-AAC 64k — caminandes1_heaac_64k_<lang>.mp4
• MPEG-H 64k — caminandes1_mpegh_64k_<lang>.mp4
• AC-4 2ch ambient — ac4_2ch_eng.mp4

Subtitles (TTML, per language eng/fin/deu/swe):

• Packaged: sub_<lang>.mp4
• Raw XML: sub_<lang>_v3.xml

Toolchain

Assets were prepared with FFmpeg, MP4Box / GPAC, UAVS3, and the Fraunhofer MPEG-H Suite.
