Atlavium is a companion for tabletop role-playing groups that runs in your browser. It keeps your campaign knowledge coherent across months and years of play, so the questions that return to every table have an answer: Who was that character again? What did we promise? Where is it written down?
Your Atlavium is the magical airship that carries your worlds. It serves game masters who prepare sessions and follow campaigns, worldbuilders who describe people, places and factions, and players who keep a character journal. The service is available in English and German, and your notes are not tied to one rules system.
You can find the service at https://app.atlavium.com. Registration is open, and you can create a free account at https://app.atlavium.com/sign-up. The website at https://atlavium.com shares the blog, the changelog and more about the project.
-
Realm: A separate world and workspace with its own Compendium, for a setting or a connected chronicle. It can contain several campaigns.
-
Compendium: The knowledge space inside a Realm. Documents, images, World Entities, campaigns, quests, sessions, calendars and whiteboards live here.
-
Canon: The truth you decide. The Keeper makes suggestions, and you decide what becomes Canon.
-
the Keeper: The old, wise and friendly librarian aboard your Atlavium. He is optional and works with the knowledge of your current Realm.
-
Fellowship: An invite-only connection between accounts. It grants no automatic access to a Realm. You share only what you select.
-
World Graph: The connected view of your World Entities, their relationships and World Events.
-
Knowledge you can find again: Create documents, upload images and organize everything with folders, categories and tags. World Entities give characters, places, factions and other types a home of their own. One query searches across your Realm, and Advanced Search narrows the results.
-
Connected worldbuilding: Record Relationships and World Events on the relevant entries, and link your notes as evidence. The World Graph shows how your world connects, and diagrams present a chosen excerpt, such as a family tree or an organization chart.
-
Campaigns, Quests and Sessions: Prepare your next session, keep open tasks visible and write the recap afterwards. Characters, places and notes stay connected to your world.
-
A calendar for your world: Give your Realm its own months, weekdays, eras and moons, keep in-world dates separate from your group's meeting schedule, and place events on the right day.
-
Whiteboards: Arrange maps, images and clues on a canvas and connect markers back to the entries in your Realm.
-
Pages and Profiles (experimental): Build handouts and character sheets from templates, fill them in, and use the screen and print views.
-
Character journals: Record what your character experienced, whom they met and what remains an open question, and connect the journal to the world it happens in.
-
Sharing with your group: Connect accounts through a Fellowship and share selected content, either as an independent copy or as followed content that can receive updates. Marked passages stay secret, and you can end access at any time.
-
An optional Keeper: Ask your Keeper about your current Realm. He shows the sources behind his answers, helps you find and summarize knowledge, points out connections and possible contradictions, and makes suggestions. He can also read images and PDFs and transcribe audio for your session preparation. Even a wise librarian can be mistaken, so check the sources when a detail matters.
-
MCP connection: Connect compatible programs such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude or Cursor to read and search your content. The server address is https://app.atlavium.com/mcp, and every user can use it. The connection cannot create or change entries.
-
Open export: Since version 1.8.0, you can download your Realms as a ZIP with your texts as Markdown, your stored media and JSON files that describe how everything connects. The format is openly documented at https://app.atlavium.com/specifications/compendium-export, and the finished package waits for you for seven days. Importing a package back into Atlavium is not available yet.
Atlavium is not a virtual tabletop. It keeps your group's knowledge together and helps you prepare. You play at your table or in your VTT. It does not run combat, track live play, calculate dice and character values or build worlds for you. You can look up lore during a session, but Atlavium remains your campaign's memory rather than running the game for you.
Atlavium is my hobby project. Compendium features will remain free within the allowances granted to you. I won't reduce Compendium allowances once they have been granted. Starting with version 1.8.0, I'm providing every user account with 500 AI credits for conversations with your Keeper, AI text tools and suggestions for your Pages. The app shows your available credits. Unlike the Compendium allowances, I can't guarantee a fixed amount, regular top-ups or continued availability for AI credits.
I don't sell usage packages, and voluntary support buys neither extra features nor a higher allowance. If you reach a limit, tell me how you use Atlavium and we can talk about a possible increase. The access and costs page has the details: https://atlavium.com/access-and-costs/.
Your content belongs to you. A Realm is private by default and not a public website. Sharing is a separate action, and you choose what to hand over to connected accounts. A Fellowship alone grants no access. For the OpenAI API that Atlavium uses, the release of content for general model training is disabled. Temporary storage for safety checks can still occur, and a program you connect follows its own provider's settings. The privacy policy explains the details: https://app.atlavium.com/legal/privacy.
When you delete your account, your content is removed. Content that others have already imported into their Realms stays there. You can stop further updates, but you cannot delete their copies.
I'm Denis Zunke, and I build Atlavium in Nikolassee, Berlin. It began with my game master's OneNote notebooks, and today my own character journal travels aboard as well. Because it is a hobby project, I can't promise a fixed timetable. The blog and changelog on the website follow the journey.

Atlavium was previously called Chronicle Keeper. Older blog posts and changelogs keep their original titles, and so does the address of this GitHub organization.
