Linux #1

Description

@diedeno

Hi

To make this work on my Ubuntu 24.04 linux box, i need to set
export QT_XCB_GL_INTEGRATION=none
Could be my specific setup of course.

In the plugin:

QProcess {
    id: qproc

    function startVideoPlayer() {
        const videoPlayer = getVideoPlayer()
        console.log("INSTANCE", pluginInstanceId, "Launching MUVideoPlayer with GL fix")

        // Use bash to set the environment variable and launch
        var command = 'QT_XCB_GL_INTEGRATION=none "' + videoPlayer + '"'
        qproc.startWithArgs("bash", ["-c", command])
    }
}

and at the end:

   xhr.onreadystatechange = function() {
      if (xhr.readyState === XMLHttpRequest.DONE) {
        if (xhr.status === 200) {
          console.log("INSTANCE", pluginInstanceId, "API server already running, reusing it")
          // Server is already running, don't launch new process
          onApiReady()
        } else {
          // Server not running, launch MUVideoPlayer
          console.log("INSTANCE", pluginInstanceId, "Launching MUVideoPlayer")
          //const videoPlayer = getVideoPlayer()
          //qproc.startWithArgs(videoPlayer, [])
          qproc.startVideoPlayer()

          // Start polling to check if API server is ready
          apiReadyChecker.attempts = 0
          apiReadyChecker.start()
        }
      }
    }

    xhr.ontimeout = function() {
      // Server not responding, launch MUVideoPlayer
      console.log("INSTANCE", pluginInstanceId, "Launching MUVideoPlayer (no existing server)")
      //const videoPlayer = getVideoPlayer()
     // qproc.startWithArgs(videoPlayer, [])
      qproc.startVideoPlayer()

      // Start polling to check if API server is ready
      apiReadyChecker.attempts = 0
      apiReadyChecker.start()
    }

May i do some other suggestions?

  • add a timeline: see at least how long the video will play and where we are at the moment
  • when using an audio file only, hide the black video screen
  • add the possibility to select another video/audio
  • would you consider making this open source?
