Basic example not working

I tried to use this library, but couldn't get it to work.
I then copied the example with minimal configuration to this codesandbox, but it's not working:

Ah, it seems like I have to initialize the table in some way?
As soon as I trigger a sort, it works.

You can call exec(), as specified in the example. Seems like a better option than calling sort(), IMHO.
