Background

I tried installing Python Install Manager from the Microsoft Store and MSIX, but neither of them works...

I just tried to get version 3.7. of Python.

(I'm from Korea, so the language is Korean. Love from Korea.) I don't know which log is related to this problem... but I'm very desperate to get python. It says 'An error occurred while parsing the app package' according to the error message...

I suspect you're probably on a version of Windows 10 that is just too old for the MSIX, and that's going to be why it's failing. I'd have to double check the list, but I think we require the update from 2017 or 2019 as a minimum, since some critical functionality was added to MSIX at that time. All the updates for Windows 10 were free, and the older ones are consider end-of-life by Microsoft, which means they are outside of our support guarantees for Python.

It would be helpful to get your full version number from the System page of Settings to confirm.

As an alternative, you can use the MSI installer. The Python install manager itself doesn't have a strict requirement for that version of Windows, just the MSIX part (though admittedly some parts of the install manager assume the MSIX was used and so may behave a little differently without it). Similarly, Python itself hasn't got anything in it that requires later features, so you shouldn't have a problem on old Windows 10.

Or if you only need Python 3.7 then you can use the old installer that was released for it. 3.7.9 was the last one we released binaries for, or there are other distributors who will have the later security fixes.
