Should i install AWS SDK?

I have migrated parse data from parse.com to self-hosting servers, right now I'm looking to use AWS adapter to push any new notification instead of official parse-push-adapter.

my question is, should I install AWS SDK and publish a new app release [for android / ios devices]?

Nothing changes on the App side. Only on your Parse-Server (self-hosted) server.
