It seems we render (re-render) too large areas when selecting another tab than the one your are currently on.
Try selecting tabs with Dev Tools/Paint Flashing to see areas rendered.
It should only be the new tab that gets re-rendered unless the workspace contents has changed in the background, which should be accessible through the Redux store.
