Modrinth drops a new update for the Modrinth App. However, the only way for me to update the app is by waiting for the "Reload for Updates" button to appear. I have no control over when this button appears; if it fails for whatever reason, I just can't update.
However, when it actually does appear, it doesn't work 50% of the time. I don't really blame Modrinth for this: in-app updates are rather finicky to create, especially with a framework like Tauri. However, there is an easy solution....
Describe the solution you'd like
Add a simple "Check for Updates" button in the app. This button could exist in the Settings window, right above the app and OS information:
This button will always be shown to the user. When clicked, it will check for any updates, and tell the user if there are any newer versions of the app available, with the option to restart the app to update. The existing "Reload to Update" button doesn't have to go anywhere; this new button could simply be an addition to the existing updates system.
