Right now we compute the variables based on the 2010 geographies.
We want to add a second set of variables based on the 2020 geographies.
Current variables:
- cancerReportingZone (#9415)
- cancerReportingZoneTractReq (#9416)
New variables:
- cancerRptZone2010 (#9435)
- cancerRptZoneTractReq2010 (#9436)
- cancerRptZone2020 (#9437)
- cancerRptZoneTractReq2020 (#9438)
Names:
- Cancer Reporting Zones 2010
- Census Tract Req for Cancer Rpt Zone (2010 Def)
- Cancer Reporting Zones 2020
- Census Tract Req for Cancer Rpt Zone (2020 Def)
Note that even if the variables have 2010 in their names, they are not coming from the 2010 geographies. Both sets of variables are coming from the 2020 geographies. It's a bit confusing, but it's the way it is (the 2010 references the data that was used by the registry when the first defined the tracts. But it has been converted to 2020 tracts).
See CFD Squish issue 141 for the full explanation.
