Single Escape should not reset the input or interrupt the agent

I can't count the times I have accidentally interrupted the agent or lost all my input by mispressing the Esc button... 😩

OpenCode uses double Esc to interrupt. And I think input reset should not be bound to a single key at all, it's too dangerous of an operation.

I just noticed that interruption also happens when I press like Alt + Space? Can I change that? This shortcut does something global on my system.

Would it help the ESC if the button were configurable? 3code has a power user assumption that you meant what you did. I can also add deleted text to history.

I'm not 100% sure it's Alt+Space. It's just that I often switch splits in my terminal with Alt+H|J|K|L and type different quotation marks with Alt+Esc and Alt+Shift+Esc (I have a short keyboard and a custom layout) and I noticed that I regularly delete the text and interrupt the agent by accident.

Absolutely. But I think double Esc is the de facto standard so maybe it would be convenient to use that.

I'll think about the double combinations but I think I have to diverge from standard here because I feel the standard wastes brain cycles in most cases.

But there absolutely must not be data loss or wrongly cancelled turns.

Hmmm maybe slight delay of cancellation with undo. Or just have the double-escape but make it configurable. Or make esc do something else and have ctrl-c only for cancellation.

Maybe remapping and having double-press as an option- but default off to satisfy my principled crusade :)
