Apparently the deprecated use is an a different package ...

I've been away from the computer but it seems like Kurt is saying it might not originate in data.table but maybe one of the suggests? I can take a closer look tomorrow but wanted to flag this for the group.

...aaaand this seems to bring data.table to parity with duckdb and arrow on the number of CRAN issues since 2023:

Kurt's assumption is probably due to the newly added check in r90251 not finding anything (because the usage is in inst/tests/*.Rraw, not in the package code).

Yeah I also think that this is the expected mentioned email in #7813

I guess the only question is whether we only patch or do a full release (as we are supposed to :D)

Great, as always seems to be the case, you guys are ahead of the email.

I'm open to either if we think the full release will be good to go in the next month.
