Expected Value (assertNode)

Category: Outputs

Intended behavior

Passes (green) when Value equals Expected — the assertion node for visual run-through tests (fired by Run Tests).

Inputs

ID Label Type Unwired default
value Value any 0
expected Expected any 0

Outputs

ID Label Type Default
pass Pass boolean undefined

Configuration defaults

{}

Observed frontend behavior

This calls the production passive computation with the declared input/config defaults. Cached state, trigger execution and project wiring are separate.

  "outputs": {
    "pass": true
  }
}

Observed backend behavior

Offline production passive computation with the same declared defaults; no device or model service is invoked.

Current frontend implementation

Extracted production branches; helper calls and project execution context are defined in the referenced modules.

case "assertNode": {
      // Loose equality with numeric coercion — "5" passes against 5, so
      // expectations typed as text match wired numbers (same tolerance the
      // Compare node's == already applies).
      const a = coerceOperand(inputs.value);
      const b = coerceOperand(inputs.expected);
      outputs.pass = a == b;
      break;
    }

Verification limits

  • Default passive probe is an observation, not proof of all configurations, trigger behavior, or correctness. See ../NODE_RUNTIME_AUDIT.md and ../AUDIT_VALIDATION.md for test evidence.
